Gypsy Sisters Food Recipes

Gypsy Sisters Food Recipes

Christmas is knocking at the door and I was so devastated. I didn’t know what to cook this time, then one day my neighbour told me about gypsy sisters food recipe.

Their recipe is so amazing with royal flavour in them. I had to check that out. So, I decided to prepare their special moosewood soup, and in my trial cooking I went mad! Literally mad! The soup tastes so delicious that I can hardly believe that I made them.

A few weeks later, I tried their Romani chicken stew. Luckily I had the slow cooker and with that I made the stew. I can’t explain the taste until you make it on your own. Learn the recipes and start preparing.

Moosewood Gypsy Soup Recipe:

Without meat vegetable soups are not so popular among food lovers. But people die for Gypsy Sisters all-veg soup. With gypsy bread, they taste heavenly.

Last week, I tried this recipe with the adding of whole san marzano tomatoes. It turned out super tempting and I’m gonna definitely cook them again. Let’s learn how to cook gypsy soup at home.

Ingredients we Need:

2 tbsp. of extra virgin olive oil or vegetable oil

1 ½ tsp of garlic cloves, roughly minced

½ cup of medium yellow onions, finely chopped

1 large sweet potato, peeled and perfectly diced (about 2 cups)

Freshly ground black pepper to taste

2 ribs of celery, finely chopped

1 tsp. of kosher salt, plus more as per taste

2 tsp. of smoked paprika

1 tsp. of turmeric

1/4 tsp. of cayenne pepper, plus more to taste

1/4 tsp. of powdered cinnamon

1 bay leaf

1 can (15 oz.) of organic chickpeas, rinsed and drained

½ cup of medium bell pepper, finely diced

2 medium-sized ripe tomatoes, peeled, seeded, and chopped

1 can (14 oz.) organic whole san marzano tomatoes, chopped (optional)

1/4 cup of fresh basil (finely shredded), for garnish

Methods of Preparing Gypsy Soup Step by Step:

Step 1: Take out a large Dutch oven and heat over medium flame. Pour 2 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil in the Dutch oven and allow to get hot for a few seconds.

Step 2: Add ½ cup of yellow onion and stir for 20 seconds.

Step 3: Add 1 ½ tsp of garlic and mix roughly until fragrant.

Step 4: Add 2 cups of diced potatoes in the mixture with finely chopped celery. Stir to mix and let cook for 5 minutes.

Step 5: By this time, you will notice that the onions are translucent and potatoes are turning to change the color.

Step 6: Sprinkle 1 tsp of kosher salt and cook for another 5 minutes, covering the Dutch oven with a lid.

Step 7: When done, add the spices: 2 tsp of smoked paprika, 1 tsp of turmeric, ¼ tsp of cayenne and 1 bay leaf. Stir to mix them with the rest of the ingredients.

Step 8: Pour 3 cups of water. Reduce the heat to a simmer, cover with the lid and let simmer for 15 minutes. Due to slow cooking, the potatoes will be well-mushy and the thickness of the soup will be perfect.

Step 9: After 15 minutes, add the 2 types of tomatoes, I had them so I have used them. If you don’t have any, then over ripe tomatoes or tomato puree will work.

Step 10: Also add 1 can of chickpeas and ½ cup of bell pepper. Cover again and let simmer for 10 minutes or until the vegetables are tender enough.

Step 11: Season with salt if needed and don’t forget to add freshly ground black paper. It smells amazing.

Remove from heat and discard the bay leaf. Garnish with chopped basil and ladle the hedgehog goulash into bowls. Enjoy the soup hot with your favorite drink.

Romani Chicken Stew Recipe:

This special Romani stew from gypsy sisters tastes much more delicious the longer you cook it on low temperature.

It infuses all those rich flavours of chicken, spices and vegetables to unite. So, with a slow cooker and a lot of patience, you can prepare this wow-type chicken stew at home.

Ingredients we Need:

15 skinless chicken drumsticks

1 cup of fresh tomatoes, roughly diced

2 cups of yellow onions, finely chopped

2 cups of sweet potatoes, finely chopped

1/2 cup of celery, sliced

2 tsp of sweet paprika

1 tsp of minced garlic

1 tsp of basil, dried

1/2 tsp of cinnamon

1/4 tsp of cayenne pepper

1 tbsp of tamari

1 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil

1 bay leaf

½ cup of red pepper, finely diced

1 can of chickpeas, drained

1 tsp of turmeric

3 cups of chicken broth

Methods of Preparing Gypsy Dinners Romania Stew Step by Step:

Step 1: Bring the slow cooker out and place the chicken drumsticks on the bottom of it.

Step 2: Then add 1 cup of chopped tomato, 1 can of chickpeas, ½ cup of red pepper and ½ cup of celery. All you have to do is to add them, no need to mix right now.

Step 3: Add the spices: sweet paprika, turmeric, basil, cinnamon, cayenne, tamari, and bay leaf.

Step 4: Pour 1 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil then coat finely.

Step 5: Finally, add minced garlic along with 3 cups of chicken broth

Step 6: Cover the slow cooker and cook for 6 hours to 8 hours on low flame.

When done, remove from heat and serve. If you want it to be done quickly, then keep the flame on high. But cooking it slowly infuses the best flavour. Also, if you want to make your stew thicker, simply add 1 tbsp of cornstarch with ¼ cup of liquid from the stew.

Then add the mixture back to the stew. Also, there is no need to discard the chicken bones. They taste better with them.

Conclusion:

The gypsy recipes have their own unique style with cultural collaboration. I feel very lucky to have the recipes with which I can prepare heavenly tasty dishes. These two types of soups can be the best-served appetizers. Invite your friends to enjoy and share this recipe.
