Murder Cookies Recipe

Murder Cookies Recipe

I still remember my childhood Halloween days. Getting ready with a non-evil weird costume, gathering chocolate, cookies, gifts, etc. seemed so amazing. I remember, once my mum prepared cookies, but not regular cookies. Mum told me that these cookies are called “Murder”. This name sounds perfect for Halloween.

After a long time, on Reddit, I have found murder cookies recipe. Though with quick instructions, it was a little bit blur. But I have started to prepare these special cookies. On Reddit, the backstory of this recipe is not good. It’s about a murder inquiry and then they have found this recipe. Anyways, the recipe makes me nostalgic and I had to prepare cookies for this year’s Halloween.

Recipe 1:

Well, well! I’m giving clear directions for preparing murder cookies. Without wasting time, I’m sharing the recipe with you.

  • 3 cups of sugar
  • 2 cups of shortening
  • 1 cup of molasses
  • 2 large eggs
  • 7 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp. of salt
  • 5 tsp. of baking soda
  • 2 tsp. of cinnamon
  • 2 tsp. of mace or 1 nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup of milk

How to Make Murder Cookies Step by Step:

Step 1: In a medium-sized bowl, add 3 cups of sugar, 2 cups of shortening, 1 cup of molasses, and 2 large eggs into the bowl of an electric mixer. Beat them for 5 minutes until they are fluffy.

Step 2: In another bowl, add 7 cups of all-purpose flour, 2 tsp of salt, 5 tsp of baking soda, 2 tsp of cinnamon, and 2 tsp of mace. Sift or sieve the ingredients with a mesh colander. Lowering the speed of the electric mixer, add the dry ingredients into the electric mixer.

Step 3: Gently, pour the 1/2 cup of milk into the mixer and beat well. I would suggest you beat the ingredients for at least 10 minutes.

Step 4: Prepare a baking sheet greased with oil. Then dropping by a spoonful, press the mixture slightly with the floured glass to flatten them.

Step 5: Set the oven at a temperature of 350 degrees F for 14 minutes. Place the baking sheet in the oven for baking the cookies.

After removing your cookies from the oven, you can have them immediately. Trust me, from my experience, I can assure you that the taste of this murder cookie is worth your time.

  • Instead of shortening, you can use butter or margarine in the same amount.
  • If you don’t have nutmeg or mace, as a substitute, use allspice in the amount of 1/2 tsp.

Recipe 2:

From Reddit cookie recipe, I have got another cookie recipe. The scotch cookies are really buttery and go perfectly with tea, coffee, or alone. And about the taste, these cookies are nothing like I have tasted before. A very moreish texture indeed, presented on this cookie. Well, the combination of ingredients is perfectly created with delicious flavor. Anyways, let’s go for the recipe.

  • For the perfect measurement, I have counted the ingredients on the SI unit.
  • 140 g of brown sugar
  • 115 g of unsalted melted butter
  • 80 g of treacle
  • 150 g of self-rising flour
  • 1/2 tsp of salt
  • 1 tsp of baking soda
  • 1 tsp of cinnamon
  • 1 tsp of mace
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 1 egg

Step 1: In a bowl, add the 140 g sugar, 115 g melted butter, treacle, and egg. With a whisk, combine them smoothly. You can also use an electric mixer if needed.

Step 2: Taking out a mesh strainer, pour self-rising flour, a pinch of salt, baking soda, cinnamon, mace into the strainer. Sift the ingredients and add them to the butter mixture.

Step 3: Combining them fully, slowly pour the 2 cups of milk. In a baking sheet, pour the mixture with a tablespoon, for setting the shape of your cookie, you can keep the baking sheet into the freezer.

Step 4: When they are ready to shape, roll into balls, and flatten them to give a cookie shape. Grease the baking sheet with melted butter lightly, and place the flatten shaped cookie dough.

Step 5: Heat the oven to 350 degrees F. Well, I like comparatively chewy cookies. So, I bake the cookies for 10 minutes. If you like it crispy, bake for 14 minutes. And your cookies are fully baked.

Remember one thing, as they are shaped flatten and very thin, when they come from oven hot, the cookies remain soft. Let the cookies chill on baking sheets, afterward, transfer them into a wire rack to get them fully chilled. The amount I have used, you can easily make 40 pieces of cookies. If you are not a cookie hunter, then you can store them (when completely cool and prepare) in an airtight jar.

Recipe 3:

Simply saying, I’m going to cover today all the cookie recipes from Reddit, I have tried. Reddit chocolate chip cookies are another addition to my favorites. In my neighborhood, there is a little girl, named Sarah, she demands to tell her every time, I prepare these Choco-chip cookies. These little memories always inspire me to be a better cook day by day.

  • 1 cup of butter
  • 1 cup of brown sugar
  • 1 cup of white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp. Of warm water
  • 1 tsp of baking soda
  • 3 cups of flour
  • 3 cups of mini chocolate chips (semisweet)
  • 1/2 tsp of salt

Step 1: In this recipe, I’m going to preheat the oven, because, these cookies aren’t that thin. Anyways, I’m going to preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

Step 2: In a bowl, add melted butter, both types of sugars for creaming together.

Step 3: In another bowl, beat the eggs, then include 1 tsp of vanilla extract. With a hand mixer, beat them for at least 5 minutes, then pour into the butter-sugar mixture.

Step 4: Thaw baking soda in warm water, then include salt. Pour in the batter, stirring the flour, and mini chocolate chips.

Step 5: Onto an ungreased baking sheet, place tablespoonfuls of the batter. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. You will find a light brown color and chocolate chips tucking on the surface.

Don’t over bake the cookies, they will get rock hard after cooling if you keep them in the oven for more than 10 minutes.

This was my little, sweet, and memorable journey with Reddit cookies. These easy to bake cookies can be prepared just within 30 minutes. So nimble! My plan is to try each flavor cookie in the world. Stay connected if you are interested in my cookie-world journey.
