How to Make Bourekas?

Among all types of patties recipes, the Bourekas recipe is easier and delicious. This recipe can be served as a side dish, snacks, or appetizers as well. So, let’s check out the Boreka recipe:

Ingredients:

1-sheet of Puff Pastry (any choice)

1-lb of ground beef/chicken (any choice)

1 ½ tbsp of cooking oil

½ cups of chopped onions

2-3 cloves of garlic (minced)

1-2 tsp of grated ginger

1 tsp of cinnamon and cumin powder

½ tsp of paprika for heat level

½ cups of chopped cilantro

1 tbsp of fresh lime juice

½ tsp of salt and pepper to taste

1-beaten egg in a bowl

Methods of Preparing Step by Step:

Step 1:

At first, bring out the puff pastry sheet from the package and chill it for some time in the refrigerator. Now, let’s make the inner fillings for the chicken Borek by adding meat and veggie along with all the spices.

Step 2:

Pour oil in a skillet and apply medium heat to fry the meat and veggie. Take the beef or chicken pieces and chop them into bite sizes. After that, release the chopped meat pieces in the heated oil and sprinkle salt and pepper on top.

Step 3:

Then sauté the meat pieces to fry them for a couple of minutes. When a brownish texture appears, add the chopped onions and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté all the ingredients from time to time to get rid of overcooking.

Step 4:

Then sprinkle paprika powder to add an extra spicy tang to the Turkish Bourekas. Add cumin and cinnamon powder to the meat mixture to enhance the spicy taste. After that, to avoid excessive dried meat, pour in lime juice to add gravy and savory flavor.

Step 5:

Then add grated ginger and chopped cilantro to add a fragrance to your delightful dish. Whisk all the meat and veggie mixture for the final 4-5 minutes and remove heat. Then set the inner fillings of the patties aside to cool down.

Step 6:

Prepare a baking tray by greasing the cooking surface with oil. Then place the chilled pastry sheet on the pan and align it on all sides. Then with a hand knife, make small square cuttings for covering the inner fillings of meat and veggie.

Step 7:

After that, pour half of the beaten egg into the prepared inner fillings and whisk properly. Then with a spoon, make small scoops of meat and veggie mixture to put in the center of the sheet. After placing all the meat portions, close the side of the patties by folding the sheet.

Step 8:

Seal the border with a fork so that the meat doesn’t come out while baking. Then season the upper part of all the patties with the remaining beaten egg and place the pan in an oven. Bake the meat Patties for 20-25 minutes until the outer layer gets golden and crispy.

Finally, the mouth-watering homemade puff pastry with meat filling and veggies is ready to be served.

Conclusion:

All food lovers have a great fascination for snacks made from smoky and tender inner fillings with a crispy outer covering. In this case, the meat patties can be the best-served recipe. Whether you are a vegan or non-vegan, this dish can always make your appetite more tempting in every bite.
