I learned this recipe from my great granny when I was 12. In my old cookbook, it was written. I almost forgot until my daughter demanded to have some swirl cookies. I became nostalgic about the fragrance and made it. So, I thought of sharing this amazing recipe with you guys!

These cookies are pretty easy to prepare with correct directions. Surely in order to satisfy your taste buds, these cookies are amazing! Crispy sugary layer outside and the balanced chocolate vanilla flavour inside is something that will lead you to your childhood. 

Let’s start the recipe with a perfect ingredient list and instructions. Well, with this amount you can have approximately 60 cookies!

Ingredients we Need: 

1/2 tsp of baking powder

3 cups of all-purpose flour

1/2 tsp of kosher salt

1 cup of unsalted butter, softened at room temperature

1 1/3 cups of granulated sugar

2 eggs

2 tsp of vanilla extract

2 oz. of unsweetened chocolate

8 oz. of White Sparkling Sugar

Methods of Preparing Nabisco Pinwheels Cookies Step by Step:

Step 1: Bring out a large mixing bowl and sift 3 cups of all-purpose flour, ½ tsp of baking soda and ½ tsp of kosher salt. Combine finely.

Step 2: In another bowl, add 1 cup of unsalted butter, 1 1/3 cup of granulated sugar. Using an electric beater, beat finely until the mixture becomes light and fluffy. This process won’t take more than 2 or 3 minutes. 

Step 3: Now, add 1 egg and mix with an electric mixer. Then add another. 

Step 4: Pour 2 tsp of vanilla extract and mix all together. 

Step 5: Now, add the dry ingredients to the egg mixture. 

Step 6: Make the dough by kneading finely using hands or a dough maker. 

Step 7: Divide the dough into halves and then shape into 4 by 4-inch square shape.

Step 8: Wrap it in the plastic wrap and let sit. 

Step 9: Now, return the other half dough to the mixer. Adding melted chocolate to the dough in the mixer and keep beating until finely combined. 

Step 10: Also give it a square shape and wrap.  Keep the 2 doughs in the refrigerator. Keep them inside for at least 40 minutes. 

Step 11: When done, roll the vanilla dough and chocolate dough in 2 parchment papers. 

Step 12: Peel away the parchment paper and very carefully place the chocolate dough on the top of vanilla dough. 

Step 13: Carefully cut the dough in half horizontally. 

Step 14: Roll the cut and shape into a tight log. Roll them in the colored sugar in order to coat the log like dough. 

Step 15: Again, wrap the dough logs in plastic wrap. Keep in the refrigerator in order to refrigerate for overnight. 

Step 16: On the day of baking, set the oven for preheating at the temperature of 350 degrees F. 

Step 17: Line the cookie sheets with parchment paper. Remove the dough from the refrigerator. 

Step 18: Slice the dough logs into 1/4-inch pieces and place them on the cookie sheets. 

Step 19: Bake in the preheated oven for 8 minutes to 10 minutes or until you notice the vanilla portion of the maurice lenell cookies has turned into a golden color. 

Step 20: Remove the cookie sheet from the oven and let cool in the wire rack.
