Fiestada Recipe is the most famous Mexican pizza recipe ever loved by the school kids at school café, served in the US. It has the flavors of Mexican cuisine both in the sauce and pizza toppings. As it’s made in bulk for school kids, it is always shaped square for convenience. 

How to Make Fiestada Pizza:

This traditional Fiestada Pizza has a crust which is already baked! There are other pizza recipes that have the same pre-baked pizza crusts, such as, the Barquito pizza, Beef Fiestada etc. Let’s see what ingredients made this Fiestada Pizza a success this time.

Ingredients that You Need to Make Fiestada Pizza Are:

1 package taco seasoning mix

1 cup burger meat

1 roll prepared pizza dough, or as needed

1/2 cup pizza sauce

1/4 teaspoon ground cumin

1 pinch salt

1 1/4 cups mild Cheddar cheese, grated

Method of preparing Homemade Fiestada Pizza Step by Step: 

Step 1:

Set the oven at 450 degrees F and preheat. 

Step 2:

Mix the Taco seasoning with the ground beef. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the beef for 5 to 7 minutes until scrambled. Drain extra fat.

Step 3:

Portion the pizza dough in two parts. Flatten the dough on the already greased pan.

Step 4:

Bake the pizza crust for 3 minutes. Take out the crust and give a rest. 

Step 5:

Combine pizza sauce, cumin, and salt together. Pour 1/2 of the mixture over each pizza pre-baked crust. Spread with a spatula. Top with beef and Cheddar cheese thoroughly. Top with more cheese, if desired.

Step 6:

Bake until the crusts look crusty and the cheese starts to melt.

How to Make School Circle Pizza:

This School Circle pizza is made on a pre-baked pizza crust too. The toppings are precooked and spiced. The three cheese mixture on top makes it just a delish! Let’s see what ingredients we need to make this old school day’s pizza.

Ingredients that Need to prepare School Lunch Mexican Pizza:

Pourable Pizza Crust

1 packet or 2 ¼ teaspoons instant Yeast

3 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1 cup instant dry milk

3 tablespoons sugar

1 ½ teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons oil

2 ¼ cups lukewarm water

2 tablespoons corn meal

Pizza Topping 

1 pound ground beef

½ pound mild Italian sausage

1 large onion chopped

2 cloves garlic minced

1 cup water

1 cup tomato paste

1 tablespoon brown sugar

2½ teaspoons pizza seasonings

For Cheese Blend

½ cup of grated American cheese

 ½ cup of grated medium cheddar

½ cup of grated Mozzarella cheese 

Method of Preparing School Circle Pizza Step by Step:

Making Pizza Crust

Step 1:

Preheat oven at 425° F

Step 2: 

Take a half sheet pan about 20″ x 13.5″. Line a parchment paper o the pan. Spray cooking oil on the sheet and dust with cornmeal. Tap and tilt the pan. Throw excess corn meal.

Step 3:

Add all dry ingredients such as, yeast, flour, dry milk, sugar, and salt in a medium mixing bowl. 

Step 4:

Mix oil and warm water, and then add into flour mixture and mix evenly. The mixture will be very sticky.

Step 5:

Move mixture from bowl onto the prepared pan and spread evenly with the help of a spatula. Keep the pan in rest for 20-30 minutes. 

Step 6:

Put the pizza base in the oven and prebake the crust for 7 minutes.

Step 7:

Take out the pan from the oven and set aside until Pizza has cooled slightly and not too hot. 

Step 8:

For Pizza Topping

Process the pizza topping while the pizza crust is getting cool. In a large skillet, combine chopped onion, mild Italian sausage, and burger meat. Cook over medium-high heat until meat is thoroughly browned and the onion is tender.

Pour tomato paste, water, brown sugar, and dried herbs. Lower the heat and simmer 15-20 minutes. Move the dry topping mixture onto a separate plate and keep it at rest.

Step 9:

Combine three types of shredded cheeses in a medium bowl. 

Step 10:

Spread the Pizza Topping over the pre-baked Pizza Crust

Step 11: 

Top evenly with Cheese mixture.

Step 12:

Insert pizza into the hot oven and bake until cheese is bubbly and toppings are baked through. Will take about 5 minutes at 425° F. All done!
