Cranberry Mustard Subway Recipe

If you want to enjoy a lovely meal, then without perfect dressing, the taste is not perfect. Here I’m sharing the very special cranberry mustard subway recipe that will increase your taste 100 times. The spread is so going on summer sausage, turkey sandwich, baked ham, etc. 

Also, this can be used as BBQ sauce for chicken or topping for boiled salmon. The recipe is not difficult at all. Let’s jump to the recipe. 

How to Make Cranberry Mustard

Preparing cranberry mustard is pretty simple. All you need to is grab the ingredients follow the recipe! If you are using frozen cranberries, then you need to let them come to room temperature at first before using.

This is a safe method. If you don’t have time, then you can use but in this case you need to simmer longer. 

Subway Mustard Ingredients:

2 Tbsp. of Extra Virgin Olive Oil

1 Tbsp. of Unsalted Butter

1 Large Red Onion, Thinly Sliced (about ¼ Cup)

1 Lb. of Fresh Cranberries

1/4 Cup of Sugar

1/3 Cup of Honey

2 Tbsp of Mustard Seeds, Finely Cracked

2 Tbsp. of Balsamic Vinegar

3 Tbsp. of Dijon Mustard

½ Tsp of Kosher Salt

¼ Tsp of Freshly Ground Black Pepper

Methods of Preparing Cranberry Mustard Sauce Step by Step:

Step 1: Take out a medium skillet and add 2 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil and 1 tbsp of unsalted butter. Melt over medium flame.

Step 2: Add ¼ cup of sliced onion and stir until they get browned and soft. This will take 20 minutes to 25 minutes. 

Step 3: Remove from heat and set aside. 

Step 4: In a large saucepot, pour 1 cup of water and bring it to a boil. Add 1 lb of fresh cranberries, ¼ cup of sugar and 1/3 cup of honey. 

Step 5: Simmer them for 5 minutes or until all the cranberries have finely popped. 

Step 6: Add 2 tbsp of finely cracked mustard seed, 3 tbsp of Dijon mustard and 2 tbsp of balsamic vinegar. Stir finely and cook them for 5 minutes more until the berries are glazed and the juice becomes thick. 

Step 7: Transfer the dressing to a food processor and pulse for 6 minutes or until pureed. 

Step 8: Season with ½ tsp of kosher salt and ¼ tsp of freshly ground black pepper or as per taste. 

Transfer in a jar and refrigerate. You can store it up to 2 week in the refrigerator. 

Cranberry Mustard Sandwich Spread Recipe:

If you already have cranberry sauce at home, no worries! Just a little bit touch will make it even more tempting and delicious. Let me share how I prepare my short time cranberry mustard spread very easily. 

Ingredients We Need:

1 Can of Cranberry Sauce (I Usually Use Ocean Spray)

5 Tbsp of Grainy Dijon Mustard

4 Tbsp of Brown Sugar

2 Tbsp of Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Methods of Preparing Step by Step:

Step 1: In a small saucepan, add 2 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil and heat over medium flame. 

Step 2: Add 5 tbsp of Dijon mustard and stir until fragrant, for about 1 to 2 minutes. 

Step 3: Add 4 tbsp of brown sugar and stir until dissolved. 

Step 4: Now, add 14 oz. or 1 can of cranberry sauce and cook for 3 minutes. 

Remove from the heat and serve hot as a dip with chicken sandwich, pork, beef, ham or whatever you like. With 1 can cranberry sauce, you will make 2 cups.
