O’Charley’s pies! Yes! You must be familiar with the incredible taste. The pies are award-winning because of the heavenly taste. For quite a long time, I have been trying to prepare O’Charley’s caramel pie. After trying so hard, finally, I have succeeded in preparing almost perfect o’charley’s caramel pie recipe. O Charleys Carmel pie recipe: 

You have no idea how excited I am, sharing this special recipe with you! With a crockpot or slow cooker, you can prepare your favorite caramel pie recipe o’charley’s without any trouble. Your homemade pies are not only desserts, but they are also more. Here is the recipe for your copycat O’Charley’s caramel pie.

Ingredients: 

  • 1 large Graham cracker pie crust (see the recipe below)
  • 2 cans of caramel pie sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 small container of Cool Whip 
  • 1 pkg. of chopped pecans
  • 1 pkg. of mini chocolate chips
  • Water 

How to make caramel pie step by step: 

Step 1: Bring out a crockpot to prepare the caramel pie. 

Step 2: Removing the labels from the sweetened condensed milk, place them into the crockpot. You just need to remove the labels, not the cans. You need to put them unopened into the crockpot. 

Step 2: Now, you need to fill the crockpot up with cold water. Pour the water as they can barely cover the condensed milk cans. Don’t pour too much or too little water into the crockpot, in case you can’t get the perfect result. 

Step 3: Turn on the crock pot low and cover it for setting the time frame of 7 hours.

Step 4: After 7 hours, turning off the crockpot, expel the cans from the crockpot. Let the condensed milk cans cool at least for 3 hours. These time frames are very important to set the ingredients. 

Step 5: When the cans are cool enough, uncover the cans and pour the 2 cans of condensed milk into the cracker pie crust. Preparing the pie crust is super easy. Anyways, spread the caramel smoothly with a wide wooden spoon. 

Step 6: Condense milk can be lukewarm. So, don’t place the cool whip before it is completely cold. Top the cool whip on cooled condensed milk spread. 

Step 7: Garnish your caramel pie with chopped pecans and mini chocolate chips. With the garnish. your pies not only look great but also taste amazing.

Crust

To prepare caramel pie, the graham cracker pie crust, you just need three ingredients. When the condensed milk is preparing a crockpot, you need to prepare the pie crust. I always use the Keebler brand crumbs for making the pie crust. This doesn’t take more than 15 minutes to prepare but to let the crust cool down, it’s better to make it earlier. So, let’s see the process of preparing the o’charley’s pies crust. 

Ingredients: 

  • Graham cracker crumbs about 1 cup
  • 2 tbsp. of sugar
  • Melted butter about 1/2 cup

Directions: 

  1. In a pan, melt the butter slice. Let the melted butter cool and transfer it in a bowl. 
  2. Mix the graham cracker crumbs (Keebler Brand), 2 tbsp. of sugar in another bowl. 
  3. Pour the melted butter into the crumbs mix slowly, whisking them well. Keep whisking until the butter entirely mix up into the mixture. 
  4. Taking a 9*9″ size pie pan, pack the crumb mixture evenly in the pan. With fingers, press the bottom level and sides of the crumbs and continue that firmly up to the rim. 
  5. Place the pie pan into the refrigerator to chill before you use it for filling. Well, personally, I don’t like this process. I bake the crumb crust into the oven to 350 degrees F for 8 minutes. 
  6. Remove the pie pan from the oven, let it cool before you fill it. 

Your main ingredient for caramel pie is ready. The pie mostly depends on the crumb crust. So, the crust is needed to be perfect. 

Caramel Pie Cool Whip

For preparing easy caramel pie cool whip is another must ingredient. Though this is available in super shops. But you know what? Preparing all the possible ingredients at home is so satisfying to me. So, I have decided to share all the necessary and possible recipes of the ingredients related to the caramel pie. Making cool whip at home can be time-consuming and it needs so many ingredients. But the experiment was really fun and the taste was natural. Your homemade cool whip recipe is here.

 Ingredients: 

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons of powdered gelatin
  • 2 tablespoons of ice water
  • 3 tablespoons of powdered milk
  • 1/4 cup of whole milk
  • 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup of corn syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon of Kosher salt 
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 cups of cold heavy cream 

Directions: 

Step 1: In a glass bowl, mix the gelatin and 2 tbsp. of ice water well until they are completely blended. 

Step 2: In another bowl, combine the powdered milk, liquid milk, and vanilla extract. stir all the ingredients well. 

Step 3: Clip a candy thermometer onto a side of a small saucepan, adding the water, corn syrup, salt, and 3/4 cup of sugar.

Step 4: Over medium heat, cook the ingredients stirring from time to time. After 3 minutes, you will notice that they are well combined. 

Step 5: Increase the temperature over medium-high heat and keep the mixture boiling until the candy thermometer shows the temperature to 150 degrees F. 

Step 6: Removing from heat, transfer the mixture in a metal bowl, and let it cool at first. 

Step 7: When the candy thermometer shows the temperature at 200 degrees, pour the gelatin mix into the metal bowl. 

Step 8: Using a hand mixture or electric mixture, keep whisking them until they are fully cooled. The size of the cream increases three times and the color is showed pure white. 

Step 9: Add 1/4 of the vanilla-milk mixture at a time, beating continuously. All ingredients will look like snow-white color and very fluffy. Continue the process until all the vanilla mix is finished.

Step 10: Now, you need to cover the metal bowl with a saran wrap. Let the cream sit for 3 hours at room temperature. If you put it into a refrigerator, the cream will harden. 

Step 11: After 3 hours, pour the heavy cream into the bowl slowly and keep beating with a continuous motion for 20 minutes or until they show up with soft peaks. 

Here your whip cream is ready. You can store it into the freezer for up to 3 months.
