I always get fascinated by the famous chefs’ cooking experiences and recipes. In my every month explore routine, I always try to recreate some new recipes from famous chefs. We all are familiar with Jamie Deen. He is a famous American cook and restaurateur with a lot of his recipes like BBQ baby back ribs, green bean salad, red lobster, chili, etc.

Among them today, I’m going to share with you the Jaime deen chili recipe. Chili is a spicy and popular dish among us and there are a lot of recipes you will find on the internet. But what if you find an award-winning recipe of chili! I bet you will find this recipe better than any other chili recipe you have tried.

Award Winning Chili Recipe:

Aren’t you super excited about preparing this award-winning Jamie deen’s chili? The most important in this recipe is its timing. The lots of ingredients with rich flavorful items and mostly beer give the chili the best flavor anyone has ever tasted before inventing it. Hold your hunger and be ready to jump for the deen chili recipe.

Ingredients We Need:

  • 2 tbsp. of olive oil
  • 1 large red onion, minced
  • 1 medium-sized bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 medium-sized yellow bell pepper, chopped
  • 4 cloves of garlic, chopped
  • 1 pound of lean ground beef
  • 8 ounces of Italian sausage, remove the casing before using.
  • 1/4 cup of chili powder
  • 1 tbsp. of ground cumin
  • 1 tbsp. of dried oregano
  • 4 oz. of can tomato paste
  • 12 oz. of bottle beer
  • 42+14 oz. of canned diced tomatoes
  • 15 oz. of canned black beans
  • 15 oz. of canned kidney beans
  • 15 oz. of canned pinto beans

For Toppings: 

  • Sour cream
  • Cheddar cheese, shredded
  • Parmesan cheese shredded
  • Olives
  • Tortilla chips
  • Chopped fresh parsley.

How to Prepare Jamie Deen Chili Step By Step: 

Step 1: First of all, you need to bring a saucepan, and add 2 tbsp. of olive oil over medium-high heat.

Step 2: When the olive oil is hot, add minced red onions, chopped bell pepper, chopped yellow bell pepper. Giving the vegetables a good stir, sauté for 5 to 8 minutes or until tender. 

Step 3: After that, add chopped garlic cloves. Continue stirring for less than a couple of minutes. A nice odor of garlic will reach to your next-door neighbor for sure. 

Step 4: Now in that vegetable mixture, simply add the whole amount of lean ground beef and Italian sausage. Break the crystal up with a spatula or for best result, wooden spoon. Cover the saucepan with a lid and continue cooking over low heat for 10 minutes. 

Step 5: By this time, you need to drain and rinse the black beans, kidney beans, pinto beans using a colander.

Step 6: After 10 minutes, you need to drain the beef-sausage mixture, and put them back to the saucepan. 

Step 7: Again, sprinkle 1/4 cup of chili powder, 1 tbsp. of ground cumin, 1 tbsp. of dried oregano. Stir the ingredients and cook for about 3 to 4 minutes. 

Step 8: The aroma that comes from the beef-sausage mixture is completely amazing, and you can fill the spicy smell from chili powder as well. Pour 4 oz. of can tomato paste into your beef-sausage mixture. The toasting flavor added because of tomato paste in chili, is really amazing. 

Step 9: Now pour 1 bottle of beer and give it a good stir. Keep an eye on the mixture that it doesn’t cling to the bottom of the pan. 

Step 10: Bringing the temperature to a simmer, pour the diced fresh tomatoes, and 4 types of drained beans that you have prepared earlier. 

Step 11: Now cover the saucepan with a lid, and wait for 4 hours in the low temperature to get your beef and sausage chili with beer. With a spatula or wooden spoon, stir occasionally. 

After 2 hours, when the chili is ready, serve it over rice. As for the topping, you can add any of the items listed above. Here is your free choice. I have added olive and tortilla chips once, the flavor was amazing. 

Dutch Oven Chili Recipe:

Among the famous chili recipies list, cooking with a Dutch oven is very popular. And it takes a very short time to prepare. If you don’t have the energy of cooking the chili for 4 hours, you can try this recipe. More or less this recipe tastes almost the same but without beer. So the rich flavor of chili can be absent here, yet you can have your chili just within 1 hour. The salsa. I have used here, adds extra toasted flavor also. The ingredients and equipment are listed below: 

Equipment:

  • 5 qt. Dutch oven
  • Wooden spoon

Ingredients: 

  • 1 1/2 lbs. of lean ground beef
  • 1/2 cup chopped onions
  • 1/2 cup of diced bell pepper
  • 2 tbsp. of chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp of cumin
  • 1 tsp of kosher salt
  • 1 tsp of black pepper
  • 2 cups of salsa
  • 3 cups of stewed tomatoes
  • 16 oz. of dark kidney beans
  • 16 oz. of light kidney beans

For Garnish: 

  • Shredded cheddar cheese 
  • Sour cream
  • Green onions, sliced

Directions: 

Step 1: Place the Dutch oven on the stove for heating, and heat it over medium-high heat. 

Step 2: Now add the lean ground beef; crumble and stir. When the beef is fully done crumbling, reduce the heat on medium-low. 

Step 3: Splatter the chopped onions and bell peppers in the beef. Sauté and continue stirring for 15 minutes. By this time, you will notice that the beef is already browned, and the vegetables are translucent. 

Step 4: Removing from heat, drain all the renderings off that have over-moisture your beef-vegetable mixture. 

Step 5: Back to the heat, sprinkle the spices: 2 tbsp. of chili powder, 1/2 tsp of cumin, 1 tsp of kosher salt, and 1 tsp of black pepper. Mix the spices well. 

Step 6: Now, add 2 cups of salsa and stewed tomatoes, and give it a good whisk. Cook it for 4 to 5 minutes. 

Step 7: Now gently place the kidney beans, as they are fragile. 

Step 8: Increasing the heat to medium-high, cover the Dutch oven, and let it boil. 

Step 9: While boiling, quickly decrease the heat to a low simmer, covering the Dutch oven. Let it cook for 30 minutes.

The liquid comes from the tomato, and beef will be absorbed by this time. When the chili is thickened enough, turn off the stove and let stand for 10 minutes to set the flavor. Garnish with sour cream, shredded cheeses, and sliced onions. Serve it with rice, bread, etc. 

Conclusion: 

Whether the chili made with beer or not, the hearty and meaty flavor of chili is always ready to win spice lovers’ hearts. Both of the recipes showed above, will totally worth your time. Also with the leftovers of chili, you can use it as the Coney sauce of hot dog or as topping for nachos.
