This recipe can be easily called the best beef tips and gravy recipe in the Southern region. This dish is great because of its delicious gravy and a measured mixture of spices. 

Cooking beef tips and rice are a great addition to have during thanksgiving or Christmas family dinners. Meat-loving foodies would definitely enjoy this dish. In a lot of cases, savory biscuits can also be served with the gravy and beef roast if someone prefers it. This dish goes great with herb rice and sautéed vegetables. Ingredients that You Will Need Are:

Five pounds of beef rump roast

One-fourth of a cup of bacon drippings

One teaspoon ground ginger

One small chopped onion

One cup of water

Two teaspoons salt

One-fourth of a teaspoon of ground black pepper

Two bay leaves

Five cloves

Method of Preparing the Crockpot Beef Tips Step by Step:

Step 1: Heat up a big crockpot with depth, pour some vegetable oil. Cook the bacon in that pot. You only need the bacon dripping. So, you can put the bacon aside after they are cooked. Cook the bacon until crispy, then remove the cooked pieces. Leave the bacon dripping on the pot.  

Step 2: Season the rump roast with salt, ginger, and black pepper. Rub the seasoning well on the beef. Sear the beef on all sides in the same crockpot where you cooked the bacon.

Make sure you coat it evenly and rub it into the beef. It is necessary for the beef to be well-seasoned. That way the beef will taste great and have an aromatic effect. This is necessary so you can fully enjoy the mouthwatering roast beef tips. 

Step 3: Let the beef cook for a bit. Then, add water, bay leaves, cloves, onions and adjust salt. 

Step 4: Cover the lid tightly and let it simmer for 4 and a half hours. 

Step 5: Check towards the end wehther the beef is tender or not. 

Step 6: When ready, take the roasted kettle beef off the heat and slice it into steak-shaped pieces. Or, you can shred it. You can let the gravy thicken a bit more. Then pour the warm gravy on the shredded beef roast and lightly mix. Then, serve with bread or rice and sautéed vegetables.

Note: You can freeze the leftover gravy and enjoy it with rice and bread with the leftover roast beef tips if there is any left after the meal. You can heat the gravy up on the stove, on low-medium. Toast some bread and eat to your heart’s content.
