If you don’t want to cook frozen then there is a very simple process of this popular question, “how to thaw frozen butternut squash?” You just simply remove the frozen squash and keep in the refrigerator for a whole night. They will be thawed. 

Diced Squash Recipe with Maple Syrup: 

This recipe is absolutely mouth-watering with the perfect combination of cinnamon roasted butternut squash with maple syrup and rosemary.

Here are some necessary tips, you may feel helpful. You can dice the butternut squash a day ahead and keep it in the refrigerator.

The leftover baked squash cubes can be stored up to 1 week without losing any flavour. They can be enjoyed through reheating to a microwave or stovetop. Anyways, let’s proceed to the recipe.

Ingredients we Need:

3 Pounds of Butternut Squash (1 Large), Finely Peeled, Seeded, and Cut into 1-Inch Cubes

¾ Tsp of Ground Cinnamon

1 ½ Tbsp. of Pure Maple Syrup

½ Tsp of Finely Ground Black Pepper

1 Tbsp of Fresh Rosemary, Finely Chopped

1 Tsp of Kosher Salt or to Taste

1 ½ Tbsp. of Extra Virgin Olive Oil (Evoo)

Methods of Preparing Roasted Butternut Squash Step by Step:

Step 1: First of all, you need to preheat the oven at the temperature of 400 degrees F, positioning the wire racks in the upper and lower thirds of the oven.

Step 2:  Bring out two baking sheets and grease with a nonstick cooking spray. 

Step 3: Take out a large bowl and add 3 pounds of butternut squash cubes.

Step 4: Pour 1 ½ tbsp. of maple syrup with 1 ½ tbsp. of extra virgin olive oil. 

Step 5: Sprinkle 1 tsp of kosher salt, ¾ tsp of ground cinnamon, and ½ tsp of freshly ground black pepper. 

Step 6: Toss finely to coat well, you can use spatula also to mix. 

Step 7: Divide the prepared squash cubes between two greased baking sheets. 

Step 8: Hence, spread the cubes in a single layer on the baking sheet keeping 1 cm distance. 

Step 9: Place the baking sheets on the upper and lower racks and set the baking time for 15 minutes. 

Step 10: After 15 minutes, remove the baking sheets carefully. Using a spatula, turn the cubes. 

Step 11: Return the baking sheets back to the oven and switch the position of the baking sheets. 

Step 12: Bake for 15 minutes or until the squash cubes are tender. 

Remove from the oven and top with chopped rosemary. Serve and enjoy! 

How to Roast Frozen Butternut Squash?

Also, this is one of my favorite fall vegetables. The sweet flavor cheers me up to my exhausted evenings. Also, I don’t have to dice the squashes, I just buy frozen ones unlike my previous recipe. Let’s see how to do it. 

Ingredients we Need:

16-Ounce (4 Cups) of Frozen Butternut Squash Cubes, No Need to Thaw

2 Tbsp of Extra Virgin Olive Oil

1 Tsp of Kosher Salt

½ Tsp of Freshly Ground Black Pepper

Methods of Preparing Frozen Squash Step by Step:

Step 1: take out a medium mixing bowl and place 4 cups of frozen squash cubes. If any pieces are frozen together, break them.

Step 2: Season with 1 tsp of kosher salt and ½ tsp of freshly ground black pepper. 

Step 3: Pour 2 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil and toss until evenly coated. 

Step 4: Place a baking sheet in the lowest oven position. Preheat the oven at the temperature of 450 degrees F. Heat for 10 minutes.

Step 5: After that, carefully remove the baking sheet from the oven and place the squash cubes into one fine layer 

Step 6: Set the baking time for 20 minutes or until the edge is crispy and tender. 

Step 7: In the halfway, flip the cubes and continue baking. 

When done, remove from the oven and don’t start eating. Let sit for a few minutes to get cool.
