Ingredients That You Will Need Are:

Two and a half cups of warm water

One and a half tablespoons of instant yeast

1/3 of a cup and a tablespoon molasses

Two tablespoons of cocoa powder

Three tablespoons of oil

1/3 of a cup of honey

Two teaspoons of salt

Three cups of wheat flour

Four cups of all-purpose flour

Three tablespoons of unsalted and melted butter

One tablespoon of oats (for sprinkling)

Method of Preparing the Dark Molasses Bread Step by Step:

Step 1: In a stand mixer bowl, add the all-purpose flour, yeast, water, cocoa powder, molasses, oil, honey, wheat flour. Start the mixer and let the ingredients combine well for about 5 minutes.

Step 2: As the dough forms into shape, stop the mixer and knead on the kitchen work station for 10 minutes. 

Step 3: Cover the dough and let rise for an hour. Then divide into 3 loaves. 

Step 4: Slash on top of the loaves. Set the oven on preheat. Cover the loaves until the oven is heated. Bake the loaves in 375˚F for 25-30 minutes. While baking you can definitely smell the aroma of the dark bread.

Step 5: Open the oven and take the baking pan out after 30 minutes of baking and brush the loaves with melted butter and sprinkle oats on top. Bake for another 5-7 minutes.

Step 6: After the loaves are baked, take them out of the oven and cool them on a cooling rack. 

Step 7: Serve with butter, ice cream or cream cheese of your choice.
