Thresher Shark Recipes

I was going through the ‘Reader’s Digest’ the other day. Found out that our NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) released a fact that says, Thresher sharks are one of the meatiest sharks in dense, firm, and texture. What did they do to come to this point, you ask?

Well, chews wisely, I guess. Thresher shark has a great flavor, and you will want to get the most out of it. So, today I’m going to share amazing thresher shark recipes with you.

You should know that you can’t eat shark most of the time. Study shows that these predators have some mercury amount in it, but that’s in our limitation range. Though, you have to limit those kinds of fish to once a month. Now let’s get to know the process of preparing shark.

Grilled Thresher Shark Recipe

Who doesn’t feel a thrill when you get to devour a shark before it devours you. At that time, you will find yourself at the top of the food chain. The marinade in this thresher shark recipe has a low profile, so it will not overwhelm the fish.

The milk keeps it moist as it can dry out quite quickly. Also, milk pulls out any unusual flavors fixed with the shark You can also make steaks that can be served as is, also can shred them and put them in tacos, soups, stews, or wraps. Now, let’s get to know how to cook thresher shark.

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs. fresh thresher shark
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 1 cup of lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes

Methods of Preparing Step by Step:

Step 1: I’ve prepared all my ingredients correctly. I have washed the shark thoroughly. Now in a shallow dish, I am going to soak it in the milk for 30-60 minutes.

Step 2: I’ve come back! Now I’m going to remove the shark from the milk and rinse it properly under cold water. Extra smells should be gone almost by now.

Step 3: Now, where’s the lemon? Going to squeeze out the juice all over the shark steaks and pour 2tbsp of soy sauce and vinegar over. What’s left? Seasoning, I suppose.

Now I’m going to coat the steak with 1/2 tsp of ground ginger, 1/2 tsp of pepper flakes, and last but not least, 1/2 tsp of garlic powder.

Going to coat the other side as well for a perfect finish combo. While seasoning, I remembered why sharks live in saltwater.

Cause, they would have sneezed a lot in pepper water. Now, I’m going to let it marinate while the grill preheats.

Step 4: Lovely day today! I’m now oiling the grate. I already put the grill over high heat. You can also put out a piece of aluminum foil to cook the shark on. It’s not like that taste going to be blunt, right?

Step 5: Now, no stone I left unturned but the shark. I have grilled the shark for 7 minutes over high heat; now, it’s time to flip it and let the other side feel the flame. Not going to take much longer now. 5 minutes and we are about to be done.

Time is going to depend on the thickness of your steak, remember that. Let me tell you, 5 minutes per inch of thickness is a good point you can start on. Well now, what about the fish? the smell!

My grilled thresher shark is almost ready to enjoy. Use a fork to see if it flakes. If it does, aa-hoy matey! You learn the way to devour a sea predator. Well done, mate!
