Ingredients we Need:

• 6 tablespoons of butter or margarine

• 1⁄4 cup of all-purpose flour

• 1⁄4 cup of onion, finely chopped

• 1 bay leaf

• 1 tablespoon of garlic clove, finely minced

• 2 cups of whole milk

• 2 bags of ready-to-use fresh spinach, approximately 10 ounce

• Kosher salt to taste

• Freshly ground black pepper to taste.

Methods of Preparing Steakhouse Creamed Spinach Step by Step:

Step 1:

Take a heavy medium-sized saucepan, and melt 4 tbsp of butter in the saucepan over medium heat.

Step 2:

When the butter is completely melted, sprinkle ¼ cup of all-purpose flour, stirring finely until they are light golden in color. This process won’t take more than 7 minutes.

Step 3:

Then bit by bit add ¼ cup of chopped onion, bay leaf, and minced garlic clove, stirring finely for 3 minutes.

Step 4:

When the flour, and onions are thoroughly mixed, gradually pour 2 cups of whole milk and whisk continuously. Keep whisking the mixture, until it boils and thickens. This whole process takes 10 minutes.

Step 5:

After that, reduce the heat to low, also simmer for 5 minutes longer. In order to make the sauce thick, whisk frequently.

Step 6:

Now, you need to remove the bay leaf, transfer the sauce to a bowl, and set it aside.

Step 7:

In a large pot, boil water for spinach.

Step 8:

When the water is boiling, cook the spinach until they are wilted and tender. This will take about 2 or 3 minutes.

Step 9:

Take a bowl full of iced water, and transfer the spinach to the iced bowl.

Step 10:

Draining well again, roll up the spinach into the kitchen towel, squeezing out as much water as possible.

Step 11:

Then finely chop the spinach, like super smooth.

Step 12:

Stir in the spinach to the prepared sauce, and simmer for 5 minutes over low heat.

Step 13:

Lastly, add up that remained 2 tbsp of butter. Season with salt and pepper as per your taste.
