I wonder, is there anyone left in the USA, who doesn’t know about Port-A-Pitt BBQ. Their BBQs are the world’s best type. I had been thinking for a long time to enrich my experiences with the port a pit chicken recipes. But sadly, I took a long time.

After preparing, I regrated why I hadn’t tried it before. Port-A-Pit has taken the chicken recipes to a whole new level. My family loves the recipe so much that they have already ordered me to keep them as a must item on weekend nights.

The first thing I want to mention about the recipe is its ingredients. I didn’t even imagine, with a few ingredients which are so available, anyone can prepare this level of tasty chicken dish.

To be very honest, this is the perfect dish for enjoying every day, as it is totally inexpensive. Here is the written recipe. 

Ingredients we Need: 

  •  1 lb of butter
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 cup of vinegar
  • 2 tbsp of kosher salt
  • 1 tbsp of freshly ground black pepper
  • 4 tbsp of Worcestershire sauce
  • 6 lbs of chicken pieces

 How to Make Port A Pit Chicken Step by Step: 

Step 1: Take a mixing bowl and add butter, water, vinegar, kosher salt, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. With a whisk, mix all the ingredients. 

Step 2: Dip chicken pieces into the mixture. 

Step 3: Now, covering with an aluminum foil, pour over the chicken in a large roasting pan. 

Step 4: Place the roasting pan in the oven rack and bake for 30 minutes at the temperature of 325 degrees F.

Step 5: Then grill the chicken pieces by dipping in the marinade a couple of times for about 15 minutes. 

When done, serve the special BBQ chicken with roasted broccoli and radish salad, or cheesy grilled potato packets. 

Nelson Golden Glow Chicken Recipe with Sauce: 

This recipe is slightly upgraded from the previous recipe for the special Nelson golden sauce. Also, the marinade mixture is thicker, and the usage of soy sauce has made the marinade taste tangy. However, let’s jump to the recipe without wasting time.

Ingredients we Need: 

  •  7 lbs of chicken legs
  • 2 cups of water
  • 2 cups of apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 lb of margarine
  • 4 tbsp of Kosher salt
  • 4 tsp of soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp of garlic powder
  • 3 tbsp of black pepper
  • 5 tbsp of Worcestershire Sauce 

For sauce:

  • 1 cup of ketchup
  • 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar
  • 5 tbsp. of brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp. of honey
  • 2 tsp of coconut aminos, you can use Worcestershire sauce instead
  • 1/2 tbsp. of lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp of stone house seasoning
  • 1 tsp of hot sauce

Nelson’s Chicken Recipe Preparing Process Step by Step:

Step 1: Start with rinsing the chicken legs clean and place the leg pieces in a large pot that can hold the chicken legs and marinade as well. 

Step 2: In a saucepan, combine 4 cups of water, 2 cups of apple cider vinegar, 1/4 lb of margarine, 4 tsp of soy sauce, 2 tbsp of garlic powder, 3 tbsp of black pepper, and 5 tbsp of Worcestershire Sauce over medium-high heat. Stirring continuously, bring the liquid to boil.

Step 3: Discard about 1 cup of the marinade. Set the marinade aside for further usage. The marinade will be used for basting while grilling.

Step 4: While the marinade is boiling, remove the saucepan from the stove and let cool. 

Step 5: When the marinade is completely cool, set aside, and pour over chicken. 

Step 6: Cover the chicken with marinade, placing the bowl in the fridge. 

Step 7: Refrigerate them for at least 1 hour up to 24 hours. I have once tried marinating it for 24 hours, and the result is shocking. The chicken pieces were so juicy that they almost melt in your mouth. This is the secret part of preparing yummy chicken dishes. 

Step 8: Prepare the grill so that it is hot enough for grilling. 

Step 9: Remove the chicken legs from marinade and keep on the hot grill. 

Step 10: Warm the reserved marinade in the microwave or on the stove if the marinade is hardened. 

Step 11: Baste The chicken legs with reserved marinade several times while roasting on the hot grill. 

Step 12: Check the internal temperature while grilling, whether the internal temperature of chicken legs has reached 165 degrees F or not. Remove from heat and let cool before serving.

preparing the sauce: 

Step 1: Pour all the ingredients into a small saucepan over medium heat. 

Step 2: Allow the ingredients to come to a bubble, and reduce the heat to a simmer. 

Step 3: Keep the heat on simmer for about 10 minutes. Serve the sauce with your favorite BBQ chicken. 

If you want to store the sauce, then keep them in an airtight container for further usage. Also, you can add up port a pit potatoes recipe as side dish.
