Today we are here with the most wanted Lawry’s prime rib recipe. I couldn’t believe myself when I actually prepared the dish and it tastes good. I’m pretty excited to share this with you thinking about your responses.

Lawry’s the Prime Rib

There is none who doesn’t hear about Lawry’s prime rib. The ultimate Lawry’s rib roast recipe is at your hand now.Without thinking twice, let’s start the recipe.

Ingredients:

  • Rib roast about 4 lbs.
  • Rock salt about 5 lbs.
  • Lawry’s Seasoned salt
  • Ground black pepper.

 Prime Rib Roast Preparation:

Step 1: If your rib roast is in the fridge, then remove it at least 3 hours before starting to cook. The roast has to be brought to the room temperature before seasoning.

Step 2: Spread the Lawry’s seasoned salt all over the rib roast and let it sit for 2 hours.

Step 3: Before it sets, wraps the rib roast with the butcher paper. Don’t wrap it tightly; wrap it loosely just for setting up.

Step 4: If this hasn’t been done before, then you have to do it. You need to tie the rib roast with kitchen string. This allows you to stand up the rib roast with bones when you set for cooking.

Step 5: Set your oven to the 400 degrees F for preheating it.

Step 6: After 2 hours, when your rib roast is fully seasoned, you will notice moisture or grease coming out from the roast.

Step 7: Now with kitchen tissues or paper towels, pat the rib roast ensuring its dryness.

Step 8: Take a heavy roasting pan and place the rocksalt at the lower part of the roasting pan and set a cooking wire sheet on it.

Step 9: Sprinkle some salt and ground black pepper over the roast and put the fatty side of the roast at the upper level and bone-side at the bottom.

Step 10: Tuck in an oven proof instant-read meat thermometer into the fattiest part of the rib roast. The thermometer should not touch the bone of the prime rib.

Step 11: Place the roasting pan into the oven, cook it for 15 minutes. By this time, the rib has gotten light brown.

Step 12: After 15 minutes, lower the oven temperature to 325 degrees F and cook it for 50 minutes though this cooking time depends on the size and thickness of your prime rib roast.

Step 13: When you are using a digital thermometer, the temperature of the roast can be seen from outside of the oven. You don’t have to check it again and again.

Step 14: If you notice that the temperature of the roast is rising rapidly, then decrease the heat to 200 degrees F and slowly let the roast raise the temperature at 130 degrees F.

Step 15: When the roast is cooked, expel the roasting dish from the oven and put the cooked roast into a craving board.

Step 16: With aluminum foil paper, lightly cover the roast and let it sit for 30 minutes. By this time, the internal temperature of the roast will rise to 140 degrees F.

Step 17: Now time to cut down the kitchen strings. With a sharp knife, cut them out and remove the bones from the roast.

Step 18: With a carving knife, slice the roast up to 4″ thicker and serve.

Anyways, let’s go for the recipe.

Ingredients:

  • Garlic cloves about 4 pieces
  • Sage leaves about 8
  • Fresh Thyme leaves about 4 tsp
  • Olive oil about 2 tbsp.
  • Kosher Salt about 1 tbsp.
  • Ground black pepper about 11/2 tsp
  • Beef strip roast about 4 pounds (This is also known as New York Strips)

Directions:

Step 1: Turn on the food processor and add garlic cloves into it and chop them finely.

Step 2: Then add fresh sage leaves, 4 tsp of fresh thyme leaves, 2 tbsp of olive oil, 1 tbsp of kosher salt, and 1.5 tsp of ground black pepper and blend them until they turn into a puree.

Step 3: Now take your beef strip roast and pat it moisture-less with paper towels. Take your time and do this process.

Step 4: Spread the herb puree all over the beef strip roast and place it in a glass bowl.

Step 5: Cover the glass bowl with plastic and let it chill into a fridge for at least 3 hours. The longer you let it sit, the more the flavors will sit.

Step 6: At 450 degrees F, preheat the oven.

Step 7: In a roasting pan, place a wire rack and put the fatty side of the roast at the top. Place an oven proof instant-read meat thermometer into the thickest part of your beef strip.

Step 8: At 450 degrees temperature, roast the beef strip for approximately 15 minutes.

Step 9: After 15 minutes, decrease the temperature of the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 10: Bake the beef roast until the instant-read meat thermometer shows the temperature at 135 degrees F if you want it medium-rare. I like my beef roast juicy and soft, so I stop roasting at 135° F.

Step 11: Expel the roasting pan from the oven and let it cool before slicing.

Enjoy the steakhouse special roast with red wine.
