Ingredients you will Need are:

  • Unsalted butter, one stick
  • Half a cup of brown sugar
  • Half a cup of white sugar
  • Half a teaspoon of baking powder
  • One teaspoon of cinnamon powder
  • Two eggs in room temperature
  • One teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • A pinch of nutmeg powder
  • Two cups of grated coconut
  • One third of a cup of evaporated milk
  • One fourth of a cup of coconut milk

Method of Preparing the Jamaican Dessert Recipe- Toto, Step by Step:

Step 1: Use a stand mixer and pour the butter stick and both types of sugar in the mixer. Mix them well. 

Step 2: Gradually add the vanilla extract and eggs, mix and beat for a few minutes.

Step 3: In a bowl, mix the dry ingredients with each other. Add the Flour, cinnamon, baking powder, nutmeg, and salt.

Step 4: Slowly start mixing the dry mixture in the stand mixer ingredients. 

Step 5: gradually add the evaporated milk then the coconut milk as the mixer continues to mix the ingredients together. 

Step 6: Add the grated coconuts with the mixture. Take it off the stand mixer.

Step 7: Pour the mix into a pre-greased baking pan (8 inches x 12 inches in dimension)

Step 8: Bake for 30-40 minutes on 375°F or 190°C. Take it out when done and let it cool down. Serve and enjoy.
