Gebhardt Chili Recipe

Gebhardt chili recipe, actually gebhardt chili powder recipe, is one of those rare items that is popular by only its ingredients. This pure type chili powder makes the dishes outstanding, tangy and savory. Gravy is always beloved to me and my family.

So, one day I bought this chili powder, and google it in search of recipes. And oh my goodness! This one is already famous. So, I tried to prepare my gravy with it along with its hot sauce. The taste is something else, so I have shared this one with you guys.

Recipe of gebhardt chili:

In this recipe, my vital ingredients are gebhardts’ chili powder and gebhardts’ hot sauce. The combination of basic veg along with basic spices can’t make any gravy this much tasty. But when you are using these 2 magical ingredients, its flavour reaches to another level. Enough talkings! Why don’t you chefs try it yourselves?

Gebhardt Chili Powder Ingredients:

  • 4 Tbsp of peanut oil or 4 tbsp of lard
  • ½ cup of red onion, finely chopped
  • 4 large garlic cloves, minced (or put through a garlic press)
  • 1 tbsp of bacon drippings
  • 1⁄2 cup of chili powder (preferably Gebhardts or your own homemade)
  • 1⁄4 Tsp of ground cumin
  • 1⁄4 Tsp of dried oregano, preferably Mexican oregano
  • 4 cups of beef stock
  • 1 tbsp of masa harina
  • 2 tbsp of gebhardt hot sauce
  • 1 tsp of Kosher salt
  • ½ tsp of freshly ground pepper

How to Make Gebhardts Chili Step by Step:

Step 1:  Take out a frying pan, and heat over medium flame, pouring 4 tbsp of peanut oil.

Step 2: When the oil is hot, add ½ cup of finely chopped red onion, and 4 minced garlic cloves. Saute until the onions are tender and translucent not browned.

Step 3: In a small mixing bowl, mix up ½ cup of chili powder, ¼ tsp of ground cumin, ¼ tsp of dried oregano and 1 tsp of bacon drippings finely. With a spoon or fork stir finely like completely mixed up seasoning.

Step 4: Take out a saucepan, and pour 4 cups of beef stock in the sauce pan. When it’s about to boil, add the prepared chili cumin mixture along with the cooked garlic onion mixture.

Step 5: Reducing the heat, cover the saucepan with a lid for 30 minutes or until it goes on a desired thickness.

Step 6: After 30 minutes, uncover, sprinkle 1 tbsp of masa harina, or for better result, mix masa harina with water, and pour it into the broth.

Step 7: Simmer for 10 minutes more to infuse the flavour. Taste the gravy and sprinkle salt as per taste along with 2 tbsp of hot sauce.

Discard from heat and transfer to a serving bowl. And enjoy this amazing gravy with cooked rice or chicken items.
