Have you ever been to the Great American Cookie? If yes, then you know how delicious their cookie is. And if you haven’t tried this, then you can prepare the cookies at home.

Yesterday, my niece came to visit me. She loves dessert. So, I thought, why not make some cookies? Hence, I researched online and came up with this double doozie cookie recipe.

Double Doozie Cookie Recipe:

As I often try different recipes, I found all the ingredients in my kitchen. You also should have them in your kitchen. Besides, you may need to purchase one or two ingredients. We’ll be cooking the double doozie cookie in three phases.

First, we’ll learn how to make great American cookies. And after that, we’ll prepare the double doozie icing filling. And finally, assemble them to serve the mouth-watering dessert. Kids are going to love it; even I crave the doozie cookie. So, let’s prepare the ingredients and start cooking.

Ingredients we Need:

For Cookies

  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 tablespoon baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 ½ Cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

For Icing

  • 1 pound confectioners sugar
  • ½ Cup shortening
  • ¼ tablespoon salt
  • ½ tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 3 tablespoon milk
  • 1 tablespoon hot water

How to Make Double Doozie Cookie Step by Step:

Cookies

Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and cover a cookie sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2: Get a large bowl and pour baking soda, butter, both type of sugar, and vanilla. Then with an electric mixer, beat them until fully incorporated.

Step 3: Add eggs and continue beating. Besides, add a small amount of flour frequently.

Step 4: Once fully incorporated, stir in the chocolate chips and evenly distribute.

Step 5: Then scoop cookie dough onto the baking sheet and bake them for 8 to 10 minutes. Repeat this step until the dough is finished. You should make a total of 46 to 50 cookies.  Now, let the cookies cool completely.

Icing

Step 1: Put all the ingredients together in a large bowl except the milk. Beat in medium speed.

Step 2: Add one tablespoon of milk at a time and beat the ingredients. After adding all the milk, continue for few more minutes until the mix is fluffy.

Serve

Get two similar-sized cookies. Then put approximately one tablespoon frost onto one cookie, and top with the other cookie. Continue until all the cookies are finished. Then serve the double doozie cookie to your kids and family.

Conclusion:

My niece extremely liked the double doozie cookie recipe. Interestingly, the cookies taste excellent even without the icing. You can try this recipe anytime you feel like eating dessert. However, you also can sprinkle some M&Ms on top of the cookies before baking. This will help the decorations.
