Crock Pot Garlic Chicken Breast Recipe

This is one of the easiest recipes for everyone. This hassle free cooking can be prepared anytime. Place the chicken and sleep, not more than 3 hours though. Let’s learn how to cook chicken breast in crock pot. 

Ingredients we Need:

4 Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts

1/4 Cup Low Sodium Chicken Broth

1 Tbsp of Butter or Margarine

1/2 Tsp of Dried Parsley

1/4 Tsp of Garlic Powder

1/2 Tsp of Freshly Ground Black Pepper

1/8 Tsp of Onion Powder

1/8 Tsp of Paprika

1/2 Tsp of Sea Salt

Methods of Preparing Garlic Chicken Breast Step by Step:

Step 1: Take out a small bowl, and add ½ tsp of dried parsley, ½ tsp of sea salt, ½ tsp of garlic powder, ½ tsp of freshly ground black pepper, 1/8 tsp of onion powder, and 1/8 tsp of paprika. 

Step 2: With a spoon, mix all of them together finely. 

Step 3: Season both sides of the chicken breasts generously with the prepared spices. 

Step 4: Now, in the slow cooker, add ¼ cup of low sodium chicken broth and 1 tbsp of butter. Then, stir finely to combine well.

Step 5: Add the chicken breasts to the slow cooker. It’s totally fine, if they are overlapping. 

Step 6: Cover the slow cooker with the lid and turn on the slow cooker on low. Set the timer for 3 hours. 

Step 7: After 3 hours, with the instant-read meat thermometer, check whether the internal temperature of chicken breasts is 165 degrees F or not. If not, then continue cooking for another 15 minute. 

When done, remove from the slow cooker. If you want to have perfectly clean slices, then wait for 10 minutes so that you don’t get yourself burnt. Better be to cover the chicken breasts to keep warm and slice.

Ultimate Slow Cooker Easy Lemon Chicken Thighs Recipe

This is my personal favorite! The tenderness of chicken thighs with lemony chicken gravy is an absolute wholesome. Though this recipe takes a lot of time to prepare, yet most of the time is hands-off. Turn on the crockpot for 6 hours and you are entirely tension free. The whole combination is so delicious that you will surely make it on your Christmas dinner. 

Ingredients we Need: 

2 Pounds of (8) Chicken Thighs, Skin-on, Bone-in, Trimmed of Excess Fat

1 Tbsp of Dijon Grain Mustard

1 Tbsp of Lemon Zest (1 Tsp for Rub and 2 Tsps for Sauce)

1 1/2 Tsp of Dried Oregano

1/2 Tsp of Dried Thyme

1/4 Tsp of Fine Sea Salt

1 Tbsp of Extra Virgin Olive Oil Plus 2 Tsp More for Coating

1/4 Cup of Lemon Juice (from 1 Large Lemon)

1 1/4 Cups of Low-Sodium Chicken Stock

2 Tbsp of All-Purpose Flour

Methods of Preparing Slow Cooker Lemon Chicken Step by Step:

Step 1: Take out a small bowl and add 1 tsp of lemon zest, 1 ½ tsp of dried oregano, ¼ tsp of sea salt, 1 tbsp of Dijon mustard, and 2 tsp of extra virgin olive oil. Mix the ingredients together like a paste. 

Step 2: Then coat the paste on the chicken thighs using a cooking brush. Set them aside. 

Step 3: Bring out a measuring jug, and pour 1 ¼ cup of chicken broth, ¼ cup of lemon juice and remaining 2 tsp of lemon zest. Give it a good stir and keep aside. 

Step 4: In a large oven-proof skillet, heat 1 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil over medium heat. Wait a few seconds and allow the oil to get hot enough. 

Step 5: Add the coated chicken thighs and let cook for 3 minutes to 5 minutes or until golden brown. 

Step 6: Now, transfer the chicken to the bottom of the slow cooker. If possible, arrange in one layer. 

Step 7: Covering the lid, cook for 6 hours on low. Also, save the skillet drippings in order to make sauce. 

Step 8: In a saucepan, add 2 tbsp of reserved fat. If you don’t have 2 tbsp of fat, then add 2 tsp of butter with the fat or as per need. 

Step 9: Now, sprinkle 2 tbsp of all-purpose flour in 3 or 4 batches. To make the sauce perfectly, you need to whisk the flour continuously or it will stick to the bottom of the pan. 

Step 10: Pour about 4 tbsp of prepared lemon-chicken broth, and whisk to make smooth. 

Step 11: When there is no crumb remaining, pour the rest of the lemon-chicken broth.

Step 12: Reduce the heat to simmer, and let simmer until the sauce thickens and looks quite glossy. 

Step 13: Transfer the sauce to a measuring jar and place in the refrigerator till the chicken cooks. 

Step 14: After 6 hours, the chicken should be done and in the crockpot there will be about 2 cups of liquid left. 

Step 15: Discard the liquid and add the prepared lemon chicken broth gravy to the crock pot, make a perfect gravy and serve.
