  • Four large keto onions
  • One pound or almost a kilogram of ground beef
  • Half a pound or 230 grams of bulk sausage
  • Package of frozen chopped spinach, washed and drained
  • 5 bread slices, crumbled. It has to be a day or two old
  • Half a cup of grated cheese, parmesan
  • One beaten egg
  • One tablespoon of freshly minced parsley
  • Half a teaspoon of salt
  • One fourth of a teaspoon of pepper
  • A pinch of ground nutmeg

Method of Preparing the Stuffed Onion with Ground Beef Step by Step:

Step 1: Peel the onions in half, remove the top and bottoms.

Step 2: Place them in a saucepan and cover with boiling water. Cook for 20 minutes till they are tender but not totally soft. Drain the water and cool them off slightly.

Step 3: Separate the individual layers of the onions, separating into eight shells. Drain them with paper towels carefully. Let them rest.

Step 4: In another skillet, on medium heat, cook the beef and sausages till they are cooked through and not raw. Drain the excess juice. 

Step 5: Add in the chopped spinach, cook and stir. It should be on the stove for no longer than 3 minutes.

Step 6: Turn the heat off and mix in the parsley, salt, pepper, bread crumbs, cheese, egg, and nutmeg. Mix well.

Step 7: Spoon the mixture along the onion shells and place them, on a baking pan over parchment sheet at the bottom.

Step 8: Set the heat of the oven to 350 °F and bake for 15-20 minutes. When they look light brown and has a slight char, take them out. Serve with condiments.
