Soy Flour Dumplings
This dumpling recipe is one of my favorite soy flour dessert recipes. This recipe was originated in Japan. The chewy dumpling is mainly made of rice flour balls and then dusted with a sweet and salty roasted soybean powder or Kinako.
This kinako resembles beach sand. Surely, doesn’t taste like though. It is so sweet and yummy. The texture is sticky, chewy, and fluffy. These dumplings are a healthy dessert.
It is slightly high in calories but low in fat and high in proteins. The ingredients are super easy to find, not to worry about anything.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of rice flour
- 1/2 cup of cold water
- 1/2 cup of sweet soy flour or Kinako
- 2 tbsp of caster sugar
- 1/2 tsp of kosher salt
Methods of Preparing Step by Step:
Step 1: Start with a pot. Pour some water and bring it to boil.
Step 2: Take a bowl. Add 1 cup of rice flour, 1/2 tsp of kosher salt, and water. Mix it well until it comes together into a dough.
Step 3: Grab a small piece of dough and sha[e into a ball, mainly a bite-size. Place it on a plate and repeat until all of the dough has been used up.
Step 4: Add the rice balls into the boiling water and boil until they rise on the top.
Step 5: Take another bowl and add cold water to it. Drain the rice balls from the pot and add them to the cold water. Leave those for 3-5 minutes until they cool down. Drain them afterward.
Step 6: Take another bowl. Add 1/2 cup of roasted soy flour, 2 tbsp of caster sugar, some salt, and mix it well.
Step 7: Add rice balls and coat them with the mixture properly. After that, what’s left but serving?
The stretchy rice balls make for a very interesting mouthful. You really can’t stop with just one! Bon Appetit!
Conclusion:
That’s the best I can give you for soy flour. Hope you will like my soy flour recipies. Do try all of them. Who knows, they might even turn into vegan, I guess.
