  • Ground sausage about 1/2 lb.
  • 12 pieces of uncooked San Giorgio lasagne
  • Spaghetti sauce about 3 cups.
  • Ricotta cheese (grated) about 2 lb. (4 cups approximate)
  • Mozzarella cheese (shredded) about 2 cups
  • Eggs about 2
  • Vegetable oil
  • Fresh parsley, chopped, about 1 tbsp.
  • Parmesan cheese (grated) about 1/4 cup
  • 1 tsp of salt or to taste
  • 1/4 tsp of ground black pepper

Instructions:

Step 1: To startup, you need to prepare the meat first. The meats are already grounded. If you don’t have ground meat, you can even ground them into a blender or food processor. After that, you need to cook the ground beef and ground sausage together. To do that bring a skillet or saucepan, add 1 tsp of oil over medium heat. Add the grounded meats. Cook them until brown. It takes about 5 minutes. Drain in paper towel to soak the extra oil from the meat. Back on the saucepan, mix in the spaghetti sauce. Turning the heat down to simmer, cook for 10 minutes.

Step 2: Prepare the pasta as per the directions of the package. Each type is cooked differently. So, you can easily get the direction from the pasta box. Drain the cooked pasta and place them flat on a shallow plate lined with foil to let cool.

Step 3: Turn on the oven to 350 degrees F for preheating.

Step 4: Here, in another bowl, prepare the cheese mixture. Then add the 2 large eggs and beat with the cheeses. Also, add salt and ground black pepper to complete the flavor. Lastly, sprinkle chopped parsley and whisk all ingredients together.

Step 5: I’m using here a 13 x 9 x 2-inch glass baking dish. Now, you need to spread the 1/3 cup of spaghetti sauce mixed meat, overlapping edges of the baking dish. Now, you need to place 4 pieces of cooked pasta lengthwise over the meat sauce mixture. Spread 1/3 of cheese mixture over pasta. Likewise, repeat the procedure until all the pasta and meat sauce are finished. After that, use mozzarella cheese for topping. You can also add Parmesan cheese for topping if you want. With foil paper, cover the baking dish.

Step 6: Placing the baking dish in the preheated oven, bake for 45 minutes. Within this time, it will be hot and bubbly. Using cooking gloves, expel form over and remove the foil paper. Then continue baking for 10 minutes. You will notice that the top is lightly browned and a sweet aroma comes from your lasagna. Removing from the oven, keep it aside for setting the flavor for approximately 10 minutes before cutting.

Serve hot and bon appetite! See, this recipe doesn’t require that much time. So, preparing with san Giorgio lasagna recipe back of box is super easy.

Sangiorgio recipes for lasagna with extra sauce:

Here is another lasagna recipe with more sauce that makes it completely juicy. Lasagna recipes are always self-making. You can easily cut down the ingredient or add up something. The basic process remains the same. Still, you need to follow some facts as the ingredients are quite different. For spice lovers, this recipe is the best so far. Let’s jump on the recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 16 pieces of uncooked San Giorgio oven-ready lasagna
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 4 cups of Francesco Rinaldi sauce
  • 2 cups of Lidia’s Mariana sauce
  • 2 cups of pasta sauce
  • 4 cups of grated Mozzarella cheese
  • 3 cups of grated ricotta cheese
  • 3 cups of grated Parmesan cheese
  • Dried parsley about 1 tsp
  • 2 tsp of garlic powder.
  • 2 tbsp. of dried oregano (optional)
  • Chopped onion about ½ cup
  • Vegetable oil about 1 tbsp.
  • Dried basil (as per taste)
  • 2 Eggs
  • Kosher salt to taste
  • Ground black pepper about 1/4 tsp.
  • Ground white pepper about 1/4 tsp.

Directions:

Step 1: Let’s preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2: In a skillet, pour vegetable oil and onion. Sauté them, then add ground beef. Brown the beef and drain. Now, you need to add the three types of sauces that will make the meat more flavorful and juicier. Pour the whole amount of sauces, mentioned above, and cook for 10 minutes, lowering the heat to simmer.

Step 3: By this time prepare the pasta. Well, if you don’t want to follow package directions, you can simply just make it as I did. In a saucepan, I’m going to pour 2 liters of water with 2 tsp of normal salt. Rising the temperature into high, bring the water to boil. Then, leave the to get cooked in the water for ten minutes. Drain and let the pasta cool at room temperature, laying them flat.

Step 4: In a glass bowl, beat the eggs. For the filling add the kosher salt, black pepper, white pepper. Then add the cheeses. Well, as you can see, here I’m using three types of cheese. If you want you can use a different type of cheese. But the Ricotta cheese is a must ingredient. Stir the cheeses into the seasoned eggs, lastly add 2 tsp of oregano, dried basil, dried parsley, garlic powder for the flavor. Whisk all the ingredients well, hence your cheese mixture is prepared.

Step 5: Now, gently spread the meat-sauce mixture at the bottom of your baking dish. Try to prepare this amount at one time. So, the glass baking dish should be a prominent size. Well now, place pasta horizontally over the meat-sauce mixture, overlapping the edges.

Now, use the cheese mixture for pasta topping. Then again cover with meat-sauce mixture. Make the layers like before, in this lasagna, you will get 4 layers with meat sauce and cheese mixture. So, Yum!

Step 6: Covering the baking dish with foil paper, bake for 40 minutes in the first round. Then remove the foil paper. Then bake for another 10 minutes. The aroma of lasagna will make your mouth watery. And, you will notice the fine brown color into it.

Removing the baking dish from the oven, don’t hurry up. Let the lasagna stand for 10 minutes minimum. Then slice your lasagna into square sizes and serve.

Conclusion:

Whether in family dinner or midnight cravings, your lasagna is the best meal for everyone. With lots of cheeses and sauces, and meat you will find yourself floating in heaven while heaving this lasagna. So, preparing the san Giorgio lasagna following the recipe, will make your time worth and please your hungry tummy.
