Anyways, let’s start Romanian cake recipes, learn them fast-fast and make them at home.

Romanian Apple Cake Recipe:

Simply, I just love Romanian apple-flavored cake. Believe it or not, when I was young, I literally cried for apple cake every day. My mum inspired me then to become a chef.

And, yeah! I have become one. I think, all of you who are interested in baking, love apple cakes. The extraordinary flavor makes the cake juicy and savory, and perfect spongy. Among all apple cake recipes, I would prefer the Romanian one.

Cause, it tastes really good that I have to admit, this is so far the best recipe for apple cake. Enough talking! Let’s learn the recipe for Romanian dessert.

Ingredients we Need:

  • 5 large apples, finely peeled and cored
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 ½ cups of white sugar
  • ¾ cup of vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp of baking soda
  • 1 tsp of ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp of vanilla extract
  • 2 cups of all-purpose flour or self-rising flour
  • ¾ cup of chopped walnuts

Instructions Step by Step:

Step 1:

First of all, you need to set the oven for preheating to 350 degrees F.

Step 2:

Now grease the baking pan with a non-stick cooking spray.

Step 3:

Also, flour the 9*13inch pan finely.

Step 4:

Cut the apples into 1-inch thin wedges, setting aside.

Step 5:

Take a large glass bowl. Add 3 eggs and 1 1/2 cups of white sugar. Whisk together with an electric beater until completely melted and fluffy.

Step 6:

In another bowl, add 1 tsp of baking soda, 1 tsp of ground cinnamon, 1 tbsp of vanilla extract, 3/4 cups of vegetable oil or extra virgin olive oil, and 1 tsp of ground cinnamon.

Step 7:

Now stir all the items in the self-rising flour.

Step 8:

Now, fold them in the sliced apples and 3/4 cup of chopped walnuts.

Step 9:

Now, pour the batter into the prepared greased pan.

Step 10:

Now continue baking in the preheated oven. Set the timer for 55 minutes. Check the cake whether it is done or not with a toothpick. Insert the toothpick into the center of the apple cake, if it comes out clean, then okay! the cake is done.

Step 11:

Remove from the oven and allow them to cool slightly.

Serve it as per your choice. Don’t consume too hot, that will burn you. The mouth-watering aroma of apple cake will be enough to finish it within a minute.

Romanian Papanasi Recipe:

Among the traditional Romanian desserts, this is one of my favorites. When I crave cheeses, I always prepare this. So, thinking of sharing this recipe with you guys. Finally made it! Let’s jump to the recipe.

Ingredients we Need:

  • 200 g of feta cheese, If you have cow’s cheese, that will be best.
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp of bicarbonate of the soda
  • Lemon zest, one
  • ½ cup of granulated sugar
  • 2 cups of vegetable oil, or more for frying
  • Sour cream
  • 3 tbsp of jam

Instructions Step by Step:

Step 1:

First of all, you need to grate 200 g of feta cheese finely, and place it in a large whisk-proof bowl.

Step 2:

Now, add up the egg, ½ cup of sugar, lemon zest, and ½ cup of bicarbonate of soda. Mix them finely.

Step 3:

Now, add up 1 cup of all-purpose flour and knead them until you make a perfect dough. The dough should be slightly sticky and it can be mold finely.

Step 4:

Shape the dough into a ball.

Step 5: Leave the dough to sit for at least 20 minutes to 1 hour.

Step 6:

After that, divide the dough into 4 smaller pieces, shaping them into 4 small balls.

Step 7:

Now, divide each ball into 2. Cause, we will be needed about 3 to 4 of that dough for the main doughnut. Also, 4 small balls will go on the top.

Step 8:

Take a large frying pan and heat the oil.

Step 9:

Place one doughnut and one small ball, cooking for 2 minutes on each side or until golden.

Step 10:

Removing from the heat with a spatula, transfer the doughnut and balls to a shallow plate. Line the plate with a kitchen towel so that it can absorb the extra oil and moisture.

Step 11:

Repeat the same procedure with the remaining doughnuts and balls.

Serve the Romanian pastries with jam and sour cream on the top.

Conclusion:

Do try both of the Romanian dessert recipes. I bet you won’t regret it. Also, the crusty but tender inside flavor of Romanian cake and papanasi is absolutely toothsome. Stay connected and let us know about your experience.
