Long John Silvers Ingredients:

  • 8 cup (1 head) of cabbage, very finely chopped
  • 1/3 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1/8 tsp of freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup of mayonnaise
  • 2 Tbsp of white onion, finely minced
  • 1/4 cup of buttermilk
  • 2 1/2 tsp of lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp of Kosher salt
  • 1/4 cup of whole milk
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp of apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup of carrot, finely shredded

How to Make Long John Silvers Coleslaw Step by Step:

Step 1: First of all, you need to cut the vegetables into fine pieces, better be about the size of rice kernels. You can use a greater to make the carrot. Besides, do the cabbage with a sharp chef’s knife. The taste infuses the best through finely cut vegetables. But if you want, you can cut them in thicker size too. 

Step 2: Now, bring out a medium sized mixing bowl, and add 1/3 cup of granulated sugar, ½ tsp of Kosher salt, 1/8 tsp of freshly ground black pepper, ¼ cup of whole milk, ½ cup of mayo, ¼ cup of butter milk, 1 1/2 Tbsp of apple cider vinegar, and 2 ½ tsp of lemon juice. With a whisk, beat them all until finely combined, and super smooth. 

Step 3: Now add the previously prepared 8 cup of very finely chopped cabbage, ¼ cup of finely shredded carrot, 2 tbsp of white onion. Toss them well to finely coat with john’s slaw dressing recipe.

Step 4: Last and foremost step, cover the bowl with plastic wrap and keep in the refrigerator for at least 24 hours before having.
