Tiramisu Recipe with Rum:

To take your tiramisu on the next level, nothing can be better than this recipe. The rich piquant flavor of dark rum increases its taste when it is chilled overnight. There’s no need to the expedition at all, calmly follow the recipe according to the steps.

Ingredients:

  • 300 ml of strong expresso (1 1/4 cup approximate)
  • 6 tbsp. of grand marnier
  • 40 ladyfingers
  • 2 cups of mascarpone
  • 60 ml of dark rum
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 2 cups of whipping cream (heavy)
  • 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp of salt
  • 2 tbsp. of natural cocoa powder

Directions:

Step 1: Prepare the ladyfinger dipping with espresso and Grand Marnier. In a shallow plate or bowl, whisk the espresso and Marnier finely.

Step 2: Dip one side of the ladyfinger lightly in the espresso-rum mixture. Don’t over-dip that will make the ladyfingers soggy.

Step 3: Take a 12-inch baking dish with a capacity of 12 cups. And nestle the ladyfingers to make a solid layer. 20 pieces of ladyfingers will be enough to cover the whole. Set the baking pan aside.

Step 4: With an electric mixer, beat the mascarpone cheese and rum on medium speed for 5 minutes.

Step 5: Add the egg yolks in the double boiler, and whisk yolks with 1/4 cup of granulated sugar for 10 minutes, or until foamy.

Step 6: Remove from heat, and pour quickly the hot foamy yolks into the mascarpone mixture. Beat together with the whisk for 5 minutes.

Step 7: In another bowl, whisk the heavy whipped cream, and vanilla extract together until they get fluffy and stiff peaks. Then gently mix the whipped cream mixture again with the cheese-rum mixture.

Step 8: Beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt with an electric mixer for 2-3 minutes. Pour the remaining salt and beat for another 10 minutes to make it super foamy. Again, add it with cheese-rum creamy mixture. Finally, the mascarpone cream has its super-rich flavor with all these mixtures.

Step 9: Now spread the mascarpone cream on the top of the layer evenly, smoothing with an offset spatula.

Step 10: Dip the remaining ladyfingers and make another layer finely. Press lightly so that they get solid and compact.

Step 11: Spread the remaining mascarpone, and chill uncovered in the fridge for 2 hours.

Step 12: After 2 hours, Fill the top with cocoa powder all over. Wrap with plastic cover and keep them back in the fridge for 4 hours at least.

Using a boning knife, slice the tiramisu gently, serve and enjoy. You will find the similarities with the tiramisu recipe Alton brown. The use of a double broiler makes this recipe quite different. If you prepare both, you will find out the difference.

Conclusion:

Both of the recipes are delicious in their own way. The special ina garten tiramisu tastes so much better with the rich flavor. The second one for quick making, you don’t have to wait overnight to set the flavor. The rich cream flavor makes the tiramisu so soft that melts in your mouth.
