Cracker Barrel is the name of trust and taste from years and years. Their sweet potato casserole is full of creamy sweetness. People who don’t love potatoes are bound to love this sweet potato casserole. The pecan here is far more distinctive than the marshmallows.

I used to finish half of the dish with ice-cream. Silly me! Enough chitchat. Let’s jump into some cracker barrel sweet potato casserole recipes which are so mouthwatering that you won’t believe that you are having it just at your home.  

Sweet Potato Casserole with Pecan

This one here is my favorite one. We will be using mashed potatoes with some butter and vanilla flavor. The taste of the sweet crust of the pecans is mesmerizing. 

This is a super easy recipe that is perfect for any time of the year. In the end, we will be topping the mashed potato mixture with chopped pecans. Let’s get into this recipe with no delay. 

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups of mashed sweet potatoes
  • 1 cup of white sugar
  • 1 tsp of vanilla
  • 4 medium-sized eggs
  • 4 oz. of butter, room temperature
  • 1/3 cup of milk
  • 1 cup of coconut

For Topping: –

  • 1/2 cup of brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup of chopped pecans
  • 2 and 1/2 tbsp of butter, room temperature

Directions for Preparation Step by Step:

Step 1:

Let’s start with the oven. Preheat it to 350F.

Step 2:

Get a mixer. Add 4 cups of mashed sweet potatoes, 1 cup of white sugar, 1 tsp of vanilla, 4 medium-sized eggs, 4 oz. of butter at room temperature, 1/3 cup of milk, and 1 cup of grated coconut. Mix the ingredients until well blended. I get the potatoes from my sweet potato barrel.

Step 3:

Get a 2-quart casserole dish. Grease it well with butter. Place the potato mixture on the casserole.

Step 4:

Get a small bowl. Add in 1/2 cup of brown sugar, 1/4 cup of all-purpose flour, 1 cup of chopped pecans, and butter. Combine them well.

Step 5:

Now, spread the pecan mixture over the potato mixture evenly. Off to the oven. Bake it for 50 minutes at 350F.

Step 6:

Get it off the oven. You will see the sweet potato puff casserole is puffed enough. Cool it down a bit and serve. Enjoy this southern sweet potato casserole.

Cracker Barrel Potato Casserole 

The cracker barrel potato casserole is another classic in the crater. You will be tasting the brown potatoes with some cheddar cheese. In addition, you will find some coconut as well. The coconut here is covered with little nuts. You can have it even with some beans. 

The cheesiness will be far more infused with the cream of chicken soup. Don’t want to keep you waiting. Here is the written recipe of famous cracker barrel potato casserole dish. 

Ingredients:

  • 1 2 lb. bag of frozen brown potatoes
  • 1/2 cup of onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup of butter, melted
  • 2 cups of cheddar cheese
  • 10 oz. of cream of chicken soup
  • salt, to taste

Directions for Preparation Step by Step:

Step 1:

Get a 13″ by 9″ baking pan. Spray it with a non-stick spray.

Step 2:

Get a medium mixing bowl. Add 10 oz. of cream of chicken soup, 2 cups of cheddar cheese, 1/2 cup of melted butter, 1/2 cup of chopped onion, and salt and pepper to taste.

Step 3:

Get the frozen brown potatoes. Fold them into the soup mixture. Now, pour them into the baking pan as prepared. Off to the oven.

Step 4:

Bake in the oven for about 30-40 minutes at 350F. Bake till the heat gets through properly, and the top turns brown.

Step 5:

Get the pan off the oven. Cool it down a bit.

Sweet Potato Casserole

Sweet potato casserole is unique on the table. You will be getting chopped pecans with some cinnamon fussiness.

Don’t worry; the cube-cut sweet potatoes won’t be disappointing you. Though I had to prepare this a several time, but I think that makes me perfect. 

Ingredients:

  • 3 lbs of sweet potatoes, cut into cubes
  • 1/2 cup of brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup of butter, softened
  • 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup of chopped pecans
  • 1/4 tsp of cinnamon
  • 2 cups of marshmallows
  • salt to taste
  • freshly ground black pepper

Directions for Preparation Step by Step:

Step 1:

Lets’ start with the oven. Preheat it to 375F. 

Step 2:

Get a 13″ by 9″ baking pan. Spray it with a non-stick spray.

Step 3:

Get a pot. Add 3 lbs of cube-cut sweet potatoes in the pot with some water and bring it to a boil. I mostly use the barrel potato. Make the potatoes tender and soft. It will take around 15 minutes.

Step 4:

Now, get a fork and insert it into the potatoes. Check if they are tendered. After that, remove the pot off the stove and drain the water. Transfer the potatoes into a large bowl to smash.

Step 5:

Mash the cracker barrel sweet potatoes by using a fork. You can even use a potato masher if available.

Step 6:

Now, add in 1/2 cup of brown sugar, 1/3 cup of butter, softened, 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract, 3/4 cup of chopped pecans, and 1/4 tsp of cinnamon. Mix them well. Season the mixture with salt and pepper to your taste.

Step 7:

Now, get the greased pan that was prepared. Spread the potato mix in the pan. After that, top the layer with 2 cups of marshmallows. If any pecans are available, use them as well.

It will be a fine addition. Remix the mixture. Now, fold the pecans gently in the mixture. Incorporate them evenly—off cracker barrel potato casserole to the oven.

Step 8:

Bake in the oven for about 30 minutes at 350F. Bake till the heat gets through properly and the marshmallows at the top turn brown.

Step 9:

Take off the pan from the oven. Cool it down a bit. Serve and enjoy!
