So, today, I will be sharing some of my favorite steak and rice recipes with gravy all over it. Hold up your mouth; it’s going to take an hour and a half upmost. Without any delay, let’s jump into that graviness yumm.

Cajun Stakes and Rice with Gravy

Sometimes, you might just want to start with the good ol’ rice with gravy. Nothing can compare with these, according to my tastebuds. Now, don’t panic over what steaks should you be using.

Go with any of you like; it is just that simple. We can make it absolutely right. No further due, let’s get to know how to make steak and gravy.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb of gravy steaks
  • 2 cups of beef stock
  • 2 cups of cooked rice
  • 1 tbsp of Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/3 cup + 3 tbsp of all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp of cajun seasoning
  • 1 tsp of onion powder
  • 1 tsp of garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup of canola oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 medium-sized sliced onion
  • 1/2 sliced bell pepper
  • cajun seasoning to taste

Methods of Preparing Step by Step:

Step 1:

Let’s start with the steak. Pour 1 tbsp of Worchestershire sauce over the steak and rub it properly. Now, sprinkle 1 tbsp of cajun seasoning and coat the steak.

Step 2:

Take a plate. Add 1/3 cup of flour. Add 1 tsp of onion powder, 1 tsp of garlic powder and mix well.

Step 3:

Cover the steak with the flour mixture. Coat the steak, and then shake off the excess flour.

Step 4:

Take a large pan—heat 1/4 cup of canola oil over medium-high settings. Wait for the oil to heat up. Now, add the steak.

Step 5:

Brown the steak piece. 1 minute on each side would do fine. Now, place the steak on a plate and set it aside.

Step 6:

Add 2 tbsp of butter to the pan. Melt it. Now, add 1 sliced onion and 1/2 slice bell-pepper. Saute it until the onion turns light brown. Now, add 3 tbsp of flour and stir for about 1 minute.

After that, add 2 cups of beef stock. Remember here, whisk while pouring the stock to avoid lumps. Bring the mixture to simmer.

Step 7:

Let’s get back to the gravy steaks. Add the steak to the stock mixture. Reduce the heat to low settings. Cover the pan with a lid now. Let the steak to smother for around 1 hour. The steak should be tender by now.

Step 8:

Add seasoning to your taste. Add steak and gravy over rice that was cooked.

Serve steak and white rice hot and nice. Enjoy!

Granny’s Steak & Rice with Gravy

Granny’s steak rice and gravy is a popular dish among other steak-gravy dishes. This easy-to-make recipe is going to be your kid’s favorite meal from now on. I might warn, though, you might finish even your kid’s. Let’s get to granny.

Ingredients:

  • 3 lbs of sirloin steak
  • 3 tbsp of olive oil
  • 2 medium-sized chopped onions
  • 1 chopped bell pepper
  • 1/2 of cup water
  • 2 tbsp of cornstarch
  • 3 cups of rice, cooked
  • salt to taste
  • cayenne pepper
  • freshly ground pepper

Methods of Preparing Step by Step:

Step 1:

Start with the sirloin steak first. Sprinkle salt, cayenne pepper, and black pepper on both sides of the steak. Rub the steak properly.

Step 2:

Get a large skillet—heat 3 tbsp of olive oil over high heat settings. Add the steak to the skillet and cook on high settings until browned. Flip the steak once every 3 minutes. Take off the steak from the pan and set it aside.

Step 3:

Add 2 chopped onions and 1 chopped bell paper to the skillet. Saute until wilted. 

Step 4:

Get the steak piece again. Place it on the skillet and add 1/4 cup of water. Reduce the heat to the medium settings. Cover the pan with a lid and simmer for around 1 and a half hour. Turn the steak once every 30 minutes. The steak should be tendered by that time.

Step 5:

Now, remove the steak piece from the skillet and place it on a plate. Set aside.

Step 6:

Mix 2 tbsp of cornstarch with 1/4 cup of water. Add it to the skillet. Prepare a gravy mixture and stir.

Step 7:

Pour the gravy over cooked rice with the steak aside.

Serve granny’s special steak-gravy immediately. You’ll be lickin’ it. Enjoy!

Onion Gravy Smothered Steak with Rice

Onion gravy Smothered steak is a traditional Southern cuisine. The steaks are a top round cut drowned with a creamy mushroom or onion gravy. Let’s jump into this southern rice and gravy special.

Ingredients:

  • 4 sirloin steaks, 4 oz each
  • 2 tbsp of vegetable oil
  • 2 tbsp of unsalted butter
  • 2 sliced yellow onions
  • 3 minced garlic cloves 
  • 1 tsp Italian Seasoning
  • 1/2 cup of low sodium beef broth
  • 2 tsp of Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup of heavy cream
  • salt to taste
  • chopped fresh parsley
  • freshly ground pepper
  • 3 cups of rice, cooked

Methods of Preparing Step by Step:

Step 1:

Start with the steaks. Pat dry the sirloin steaks with paper towels. Now season the steaks with garlic, salt, and pepper. Set aside.

Step 2:

Get a cast-iron skillet—heat 2 tbsp of vegetable oil and 1 tbsp of butter over medium settings.

Step 3:

Get the steaks. Add 2 steaks to the skillet at a time. Don’t crowd the skillet. Cook the steaks till browned. 3-4 minutes per side would do just good for a medium-rare piece. Get done with the other batch. Take off the steaks. Set aside.

Step 4:

Get to the skillet again. Add 1 tbsp of butter and melt over medium settings. Now, add 2 sliced onions, 3 minced garlic cloves, and season it with a salt pinch. Cook for 8-10 minutes until the onions are caramelized. Stir in the meantime. After that, add 1 tsp of Italian seasoning. Cook for another half minute.

Step 5:

Add 1/2 cup of beef broth slowly to the skillet. Stir the mixture with a wooden spoon. Now, add 2 tsp of Worcestershire sauce and stir again. Bring the mixture to a boil.

Step 6:

Whisk in 1/4 cup of heavy cream—Cook for a minute. Now, reduce the heat to medium-low settings.

Step 7:

Get to the steaks. Add the steaks to the mixture and continue to cook for around 2 minutes or so until the gravy is thickened. Remove the skillet off the stove.

Step 8:

Serve the steaks with cooked rice. Pour gravy all over the rice. Garnish the rice and gravy with parsley.
