Marzetti Slaw Ingredients 

  • 1 lbs of green cabbage (2 cups) 
  • 1 tsp of Kosher salt
  • 1 cup of mayonnaise (I have used Heinz Real Mayonnaise, full fat so it’s creamy)
  • 1/3 cup of granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp of white wine vinegar, you can use rice wine vinegar too.
  • 1 tbsp of prepared yellow mustard
  • 1 small carrot (or use a little more cabbage instead if you like)

How to Make Marzetti Slaw Dressing Step by Step: 

Step 1: Take out a large bowl, and put in 1 cup of mayonnaise, 1/3 cup of sugar, 2 tbsp of white wine vinegar, 1 tbsp of prepared yellow mustard. Mix them up finely using a fork or spoon until the sugar gets completely dissolved. 

Step 2: With a large and sharp chef’s knife, at first slice the cabbage and shred finely. It won’t take more than 10 minutes with a sharp knife. 

Step 3: Then, do the same with the carrot. Shred it finely, if carrot is not available, then kust do it with another half of cabbage. 

Step 4: Combine the shredded carrot and cabbage in a bowl, sprinkling lightly with 1 tsp of Kosher salt. Toss to cover. 

Step 5: Now, place the veggies into the large bowl with dressing. Combine them with a spatula in order to moisten them nicely. 

Step 6: Set it aside, and after a while, you will notice there is no more liquid. This is the best part of this recipe, the vegetables don’t wear off any liquid. 

Step 7: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap, and place in the refrigerator to chill.
