  • Half a cup of arrowroot flour or starch
  • Half a teaspoon of salt 
  • Half a cup to three fourth of a cup of water, boiled and hot
  • Three tablespoons of avocado or coconut oil
  • Half a teaspoon of psyllium husk powder

Method of Preparing Brown Rice Flour Tortillas Step by Step:

Step 1: Take a bowl and mix the brown rice flour powder, arrowroot flour or starch powder, and salt together. 

Step 2: Slowly pour in the water into the bowl, add the oil. Now, start mixing to create a dough. Make sure you mix it well until a smooth texture shall form. Knead it if necessary but make sure it does not become too tight.

Step 3: Separate the smooth dough into smaller balls of 4-5. 

Step 4: Sprinkle loose flour on the working surface. Take each dough and smooth it out with a rolling pin into smooth and thin tortillas.

Step 5: You can set them aside with parchment paper on each side so they don’t stick.

Step 6: Take a dry skillet and heat it up on low medium heat. Take the tortillas one by one and cook them on the skillet. No oils or any extra moisture necessary.

You will know the tortilla is cooked through when there are bubbles forming and it has a olden brownish shade. It takes 1-2 minutes to fully cook on each side. 

Step 7: Serve with your choice of toppings. You can even make a soft taco shell with it. And if you would like to, you can enjoy it with salsa by cutting the tortillas into manageable chip-sizes.
